An art teacher used to tell us we needed to practice for 8 hours every day once we'd gotten home from college. If you added up the time spent in college with the time she was expecting us to spend drawing/ working on projects at home, there was 7 hours left in the day for everything else that needed doing, including sleep. 

I think you just have to do however much you can, and not bother yourself with what other people are doing
